Finding a hidden period

Hidden / structure

Simon: an oracle f(x) with a hidden XOR period sInput wires x pass through an oracle f(x). The right-hand label x ⊕ s names the collision partner: f(x) equals f(x ⊕ s). It is not the oracle's output.ORACLEf(x)xx ⊕ sCONCEPTUAL SCHEMATIC

The work

The Simon research program examines hidden-period computation: forming and collecting relations that constrain an unknown binary period. The oracle model, sampling interface and independent checks are essential parts of the experiment.

Claim boundary

The website does not infer exponential speedup or a physical-QPU result from the algorithm’s name. Those claims require a specified oracle, workload and equivalent-work comparison.

Evidence status in this website

The precise instance, oracle interface and evidence bundle need to accompany a public result report. No unverified period length or speedup metric is included here.
